Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer, silica based, that bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, slick, water-repelling layer. It is not a wax and it does not wash off. Once cured it becomes a sacrificial surface: contamination sits on the coating instead of on your paint, and most of it rinses away with water alone.
What a coating actually does, and what it does not
What it does: repels water and dust so the car stays cleaner between washes, resists bird lime, tree sap, tar and hard water spotting, blocks UV so the paint does not dull and fade, and adds visible depth and gloss.
Why water spotting is the real enemy in Dubai
The failure mode people underestimate here is not scratching, it is etching. Tap water in the UAE is mineral heavy. Wash a car in direct sun, let it flash dry, and you leave mineral deposits on hot paint.

What ceramic coating costs in Dubai
Almost all of the price is correction labour, not the bottle. Two identical cars can differ enormously in cost because one is a year old and garaged and the other has three years of car park scuffs and brush wash swirls.

A coating is optically clear and permanent for its lifespan. Whatever the paint looks like when the coating goes on is what it will look like for the next several years, only glossier and therefore more obvious. Any shop that offers to coat your car in three hours without polishing it is selling you a sealed-in problem.

Daily dust means constant cleaning, and a coating means most of that dust rinses off with water rather than being wiped into the paint. It also blocks the UV that dulls paint and resists the mineral water spotting that etches it.
It adds hardness and resists very light marring, but it will not stop stone chips or a real scratch. It has hardness without thickness. If you want impact protection, that is paint protection film, and ceramic coating can be applied over the film.
Technically yes, and we would advise against it. The coating is clear and lasts years, so any swirls or scratches on the paint stay visible underneath and become more obvious once the gloss increases. Correction first is what separates a proper coating job from a wipe-on product.
Typically two to three days, sometimes longer if the paint needs multi-stage correction. The coating then needs to stay dry for about a week, so no washing and ideally no rain exposure during that period.
Yes. Coating over gloss vinyl works well and makes the wrap easier to clean and slower to age. For matte and satin wraps, a matte-specific coating is used so the finish is not gloss-shifted.
